Step-by-Step DIY Execution Guide

  • Roll out a ball of polymer clay into an oval slab.

  • Using a fluted pastry cutter or clay scallop punch, cut a semi-circular scallop pattern along the upper edge.

  • Use a rounded modeling tool to press straight grooves radiating from the bottom base outward to each scallop peak, creating shell ridges.

  • Curve the dish slightly upward inside a shallow ceramic prep bowl.

  • Bake according to polymer clay package instructions.

  • Once cooled, paint with an iridescent or pearlized acrylic craft paint, followed by a coat of high-gloss UV resin or gloss varnish.
