Fold a piece of heavy white cardstock or watercolor paper in half. Coat both of the child’s hands in bright watercolor or acrylic paint (e.g., purple and pink). Press the left hand and right hand side-by-side with thumbs pointing inward so the fingers flare out like butterfly wings. Once dry, use a black marker to draw the butterfly’s body, head, and curled antennae between the handprints.
