Step-by-Step Execution Guide

  • Mount 12 cords of 3mm cotton cord onto a 10-inch wooden dowel.

  • Work 6 inches of tight flat Alternating Square Knots.

  • To create a pocket, leave four center cords unknotted in the back while building a curved 3D pouch in the front using cross-over square knots.

  • Close the base of the pouch with a tight horizontal row of double half-hitches to form a supportive cup bottom.

  • Slide a flat-bottom glass propagation vial or live air plant into the woven pocket.

  • Taper the bottom into a triangle finish with a 4-inch brushed fringe.
