Step-by-Step Execution Guide

  • Mount 20 cords of 4mm 3-ply cotton rope onto a 24-inch wooden dowel.

  • Knot an open diamond trellis pattern using Square Knots, leaving 2-inch vertical gaps between knot rows.

  • Take thick strands of unspun merino wool roving (in blush, oat, and ivory).

  • Using your fingers as a needle, weave the fluffy wool roving over-and-under through the open macramé vertical warp cords.

  • Gently “bubble” or pull the wool forward in sections to create voluminous, pillowy 3D clouds across the piece.

  • Finish the lower cotton cords with a flat square knot band and straight fringe.
